Feicheng City in Shandong Province, a core production area for high-quality yellow peaches in China, has recently launched a large-scale expansion of its yellow peach juice industry base, injecting significant capital into planting, processing, and brand building. This move not only boosts the local agricultural modernization drive but also creates a sustainable path for rural revitalization and farmers’ income growth, making the “sweet industry” a powerful engine for rural economic development.
Scaling Up Planting Base: From Traditional Orchards to Standardized Industrial Parks
The Feicheng Yellow Peach Juice Industry Base has expanded its core planting area to over 70,000 mu (about 4,667 hectares), covering five towns and sub-districts and more than 80 villages. Local authorities have invested over 40 million yuan in rural revitalization funds to upgrade infrastructure, including irrigation systems, road networks, and smart agricultural facilities. The base has introduced over 20 high-quality yellow peach varieties such as Huangguan, Dahongtao, and Jinhuanghou, extending the harvest season from late summer to late autumn and ensuring a stable supply of raw materials for juice production year-round.
Adopting modern agricultural technologies like water-fertilizer integration, agricultural IoT, and standardized pruning, the base has increased the commercial fruit rate from less than 50% to over 75%. A 50-mu high-quality seedling nursery has been built, producing 200,000 high-quality saplings annually, providing a solid foundation for large-scale, standardized planting. “The expanded base not only increases our yield but also guarantees the quality of raw materials for juice production,” said Liu Bin, production director of Shandong Nongfa Huifeng Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. “We can now supply fresh, high-sugar yellow peaches to juice processing enterprises throughout the year.”
Heavy Investment in Processing: Building a Full Industrial Chain for Peach Juice
To enhance the added value of yellow peaches and extend the industrial chain, Feicheng has invested over 150 million yuan in upgrading juice processing facilities and introducing advanced production lines. Local leading enterprises such as Shanben Pharmaceutical have added three fully automatic juice filling lines, with an annual production capacity of over 10,000 tons of high-quality yellow peach juice. The processing plant is equipped with instant high-temperature sterilization, cold pressing, and aseptic filling equipment, ensuring the natural flavor and nutritional value of the peach juice.
The industrial chain has been further extended to include peach wine, peach vinegar, peach gum, and peach kernel tea products, forming a diversified product matrix. In 2025, the output value of Feicheng’s peach juice and related processed products exceeded 100 million yuan, with orders from domestic and foreign markets continuing to rise. “Our yellow peach juice, made from Feicheng’s unique high-sugar peaches, is highly popular in the market,” said Xin Chengshuai, general manager of Shanben Pharmaceutical. “The expanded production lines allow us to meet growing demand and drive the entire industrial chain to develop in a larger, more standardized direction.”
Empowering Farmers: Creating a Win-Win Model for Enterprises and Villages
The expansion of the yellow peach juice industry base has directly benefited more than 31,000 local farmers, creating a “company + cooperative + farmer” win-win development model. The base signs order-based planting contracts with farmers, providing technical guidance, unified purchasing, and stable sales channels, ensuring that farmers’ peaches are sold at a good price “at their doorstep.” During the harvest and processing seasons, the base provides over 2,000 jobs annually, allowing rural laborers to find employment nearby and increase their income.
Statistics show that the average annual income of farmers participating in the yellow peach industry has increased by more than 3,600 yuan, and village collective income has risen by an average of 70,000 yuan per village. The local government has also established a 3 million yuan special fund for the high-quality development of the Feicheng peach industry, supporting orchard renovation, brand building, and e-commerce development. Online sales of peach juice and related products now account for over 65% of total sales, with products sold to more than 30 provinces and cities across China and exported to Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States.
Looking Ahead: Building a National Demonstration Base for Yellow Peach Juice Industry
Feicheng plans to continue increasing investment in the next three years, expanding the yellow peach juice industry base to 100,000 mu and building a national-level demonstration base for yellow peach processing and juice production. The city will focus on technological innovation, brand building, and industrial integration, developing smart agriculture, deep processing, and rural tourism to create a “one peach, multiple industries” integrated development pattern.
“Yellow peach juice is not only a product but also a key to rural revitalization,” said a responsible person from the Feicheng Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. “We will take the expansion of the juice industry base as an opportunity to promote the high-quality development of the entire peach industry, making the ‘sweet industry’ a shining business card for Feicheng and a solid support for farmers to become prosperous.”
